Meatballs - slow cooker or stove tops

Slow Cooker Meatballs

Instructions

1 lb. Ground Beef (suggest 80% lean)
1 lb. Ground Italian Sausage
2 large Eggs
1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 cup Bread Crumbs (such as panko)
1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil (chopped)
1 Tablespoon Italian Parsley (chopped)
1 teaspoon Oregano
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil (for cooking)

In a large bowl, stir together ground beef, ground sausage, eggs, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, basil, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Use clean hands and mix all together until thoroughly combined.
Roll into balls.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add meatballs and brown for 3-5 minutes per side.
Once the meatballs are browned, add to the slow cooker.
Repeat with remaining meatballs.
Pour marinara sauce all over the meatballs. Cook on low for 5 hours or on high for 3 hours, or until fully cooked. Serve with fresh pasta or on sandwiches.
The first time I made them, I simmered the meatballs in homemade sauce for several hours, instead of using the crock pot.  Turned out amazing! The next time I make these, I will bake them in the oven and see how I like that method.
