Steel cut oats

In a saucepan, combine the following and bring to a boil:
1 C. whole milk or cream
1 C. almond milk
1 C. water

Stir in, cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes:
1 C. steel cut oats
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. salt

Stir in before serving:
1/2 C. dried cherries (or raisins)
1 T. maple syrup
1/4 C. sliced almonds
