Chicken Tortilla Casserole

This was a favorite dish while I was growing up.  Anything with corn tortillas, chile's and salsa-I'm a fan!

3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 small onion, chopped
2 can cream of chicken soup
soup can of milk
1 can diced green chile's
12 corn tortillas, quartered
1 clove garlic, minced
2 C cooked, diced or shredded chicken
1/2-1 C salsa {optional}

Combine half of cheese with other ingredients, except tortillas.  Place 1/3 of sauce in bottom of greased casserole dish.  Arrange half of the tortilla pieces over sauce.  Repeat and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

Bake 350* for 45 minutes

Great if made in advance and refrigerated. Makes 10-12 servings
