Snickerdoodles



This has been one of my favorite cookies since I was a little girl.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream together butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Add remaining dry ingredients. Roll into a ball. Roll into a mixture of 4 T. sugar & 2 tsp. cinnamon. Flatten cookie with bottom of cup.

Bake 350* for 8-10 minutes.

  1. Your recipe's better than mine---a keeper for sure. (I tried it Sunday night and should have doubled it for this crowd.)
